Russian \u201cSpace Rescue Systems Ltd.\u201d\u00a0(SRS, Khimki, Moscow) offers a unique and\u00a0unrivaled system for personal rescue from\u00a0nearly any high building. This is Autonomous\u00a0Rescue Parachuting Pneumo\u00a0Back-pack System (SPARS\u00ae). There is no\u00a0doubt in the near future this system is\u00a0going to be a must-have in skyscrapers\u00a0construction all over the world.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The rescue parachuting device SPARS\u00ae project\u00a0is devoted to a creation of a unique technology\u00a0of pneumo-framed aerodynamic devices\u00a0for emergency rescue of untrained persons\u00a0from high-rise facilities.<\/p>\n

Within the period of 2006-2014 private\u00a0innovation company SRS, Ltd has designed,\u00a0developed, tested and produced a pilot run\u00a0of SPARS\u00ae personal rescue parachute pneumo-transformable devices dedicated to\u00a0emergency evacuation of people from highrise\u00a0facilities if a traditional evacuation is\u00a0impossible.<\/p>\n

SPARS\u00ae technology meets the\u00a0EMERCOM requirements for high-rise emergency\u00a0escape apparatus (GOST R 22.9.08\u20132005; GOST R 12.4.206\u201399) and provides\u00a0for the following unique capabilities, never\u00a0implemented before:
\n1. Emergency evacuation of an untrained\u00a0person having weight of 45-120 kg, from\u00a0heights of 5-1,000 m;
\n2. Ready-for-use in 45-60 sec;
\n3. Self-sustained operation and independently\u00a0selected escape route;
\n4. User-friendly operation for untrained persons\u00a0and fully automated rescue procedure\u00a0right from start;
\n5. Personal protection against external hazards\u00a0during evacuation;
\n6. Secure injury-free landing on any urbanarea\u00a0surface;
\n7. Appropriate weight of a back-pack-type\u00a0carried device (not more than 25 kg);
\n8. Alternative of emergency escape (socalled\u00a0\u201clast resort\u201d facility).<\/p>\n

An assembled SPARS\u00ae is a back-pack\u00a0(900x450x300mm) with easy-to-use suspension\u00a0system.<\/p>\n

In cooperation with 18 leading Russian\u00a0and foreign aerospace companies under\u00a0SPARS\u00ae project SRS Ltd. has fulfilled fullscale\u00a0research and development activities to\u00a0develop the project from conceptual proposal\u00a0stage to releasing operating prototypes\u00a0unparalleled anywhere in the world.<\/p>\n

SPARS\u00ae unit for individual use had\u00a0required a special certificate basis. In this\u00a0regard National Standard GOST RO 4240\u2013001\u20132012 specifying medical and technical\u00a0requirements for injury-free operation by\u00a0untrained persons rescued by means of new\u00a0type SPARS\u00ae shock-absorbing systems\u00a0entered into force in July 1, 2013.<\/p>\n

To have certification tests performed a\u00a0special Hybrid-III (USA) crush test dummybased\u00a0anthropomorphous (bionic-like)\u00a0instrumentation station has been developed\u00a0and created, which has no equals in Russia.<\/p>\n

A full cycle of comprehensive calculations\u00a0and testings to validate design properties\u00a0and performance has been performed.\u00a0SPARS\u00ae operational reliability is 98.7%.<\/p>\n

SPARS\u00ae has its Technical Data Sheet\u00a0(TU 801130\u20135047075064\u201301\u201310), and\u00a0working design documents issued. Under\u00a0SRS Ltd requirements Russian gas-filling systems\u00a0(GFS) manufacturing company has\u00a0mastered Autonomous Two-Stage GFS for\u00a0SPARS\u00ae (TU 8042\u2013017\u201345307693\u20132013).<\/p>\n

The SRS Ltd. Intellectual Property Rights\u00a0on SPARS\u00ae and its \u201cknow-hows\u201d have been\u00a0completely protected within Russia\u00a0(8 Patens, 3 Trade Marks) and abroad under\u00a0PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) procedures\u00a0in 13 countries all over the world. 2 \u201cumbrella\u201d\u00a0requests for SPARS\u00ae have entered\u00a0national level in 13 countries and covered\u00a078% skyscrapers and 95% potential SPARS\u00ae \u00a0manufacturers. 8 Patents of the US, China,\u00a0Japan, South Korea, Singapore, the Ukraine,\u00a0Indonesia, Malasia have been already\u00a0received.<\/p>\n

Three Russian EMERCOM Certificates\u00a0were received for SPARS\u00ae. \u201cAerospace medicine\u00a0and military ergonomics\u201d R&D Institute\u00a0of Russian Air Force has granted an official\u00a0approval for SPARS\u00ae physical adaptability.<\/p>\n

General market estimations made in\u00a02011 by EMPORIS GmBH under SRS Ltd.\u00a0Request, shows there are over 7,303 finished\u00a0and 2,500 under construction skyscrapers\u00a0worldwide with the heights of 100-828m and over 50,000 buildings having\u00a0height of 50-100m. Taking that analysis\u00a0into account the SPARS\u00ae Project may have\u00a0potential market capacity of up to \u20ac600-700\u00a0million annually.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the estimated potential\u00a0SPARS\u00ae market capacity is worth over $3\u00a0billion in commercial sector alone.<\/p>\n
